Post 5 week 5

The Red Cardigan is a story of Evie, a gifted young girl who has the power to see things that aren’t visible to normal human eyes. Evie loves to draw, but when she is imagining to draw her best friend, the picture on her page is the total oppisite. She is special and she knows this, but tries to act like a normal teenage girl. A girl who previously owned the red cardigan that Evie owns today, wants to be found. Strange and upsetting things happen to Evie that effect her, not just mentally, but physically too. But all these odd happenings are happening for one reason, they are clues to finding the lost girl. Through pain and suffering, Evie finds her inner strength and helps to find the missing girl.

Post 4 week 4

This book keeps drawing me into it, making me feel as if all these strange and frightening things are happening to me, as well as Evie. Whenever Evie is feeling tense or can sense what someone else is thinking, I can tell because I start to move to the edge of my seat and feel a little stressed. The time when Evie, Theo and Nick make their way to the police station, Evie  can sense that Dectective Sergeant Mary Thackeray doesn’t believe in her gift and she gets worked up about this. At the moment my favourite character is Evie because I am following her story well, and at times I just want give Evie comfort and help her through all that is bothering her, and reassure her that everything’s going to be allright. I can’t wait until we finish “The Red Cardigan” because I am curious to discover what is still to come! After reading most of this book, I cannot wait to grab a hold of the next in the sequal, “Nine letters long” and read through it expecting to be even more freaked out than when I read this book. I think that in the end Evie will discover unknown things about herself and become a more confident person and have a better attitude toward herself. I also think, by studying the front cover of the next in the series, that Evie will be able to walk through walls and be able to do the unthinkable. I have these opinions but I’ll have to wait patiently and see!

Thanks

Post 3 week 3

Hi!

I am glued to this book, every page I turn, I think to myself, ‘What is going to happen next’. It is so intense and making me feel scared and is giving me chills down my spine. So many things are happening. Evie finds out about Antonia, and gets a bit upset and confused and doesn’t know if to continue with art or forget it. Evie and the special person she see’s at the pin seem similar in a way and this is making me feel nervous. I have an interesting idea about who or what is happening to Evie…

This week I will be the Connector, Sarah will be the Investigator, Bridget the Text Selector, Teagan the Illustrator and Amber the Discussion Director.

Thanks 🙂

Post 2 week 2

Hello,

I am really enjoying this novel, as it is extremely interesting and is giving me chills. I have never read a book like this before. Sometimes it is hard to understand, but when I read over it again and again, I understand it. I am trying to figure out who the little girl is that she see’s at “The Pin”, and I have some sort of idea about who she may be.
This week we are reading up until part three. It is around about 60-70 pages and being a slow-ish reader, this is hard for me. But because this book is gripping and entertaining, I think I’ll cope well.

Also this week we have different jobs. I am the Illustrator and I am looking forward to creating a very realistic drawing. Amber is the Vocabulary Enricher. Teagan in the Text Selector. Sarah is the Summariser. Bridget is the Discussion Director.

I can’t wait to start reading more of this book and I am excited to be the Illustrator.
